Consumentenprijzen stijgen gemiddeld 1,4 procent in 2017

De afgelopen drie jaar stegen de consumentenprijzen nauwelijks, maar in 2017 namen deze prijzen met gemiddeld 1,4 procent toe. Goederen waren gemiddeld 1,5 procent duurder en diensten staken 1,2 procent boven het prijsniveau van 2016 uit.

Oorzaak

De prijsstijgingen zijn vooral te wijten aan prijsontwikkeling op het gebied van autobrandstoffen en elektriciteit. Benzine was in 2017 5,2 procent duurder dan in 2016 en de energiebelasting werd verhoogd, waardoor elektriciteit 1,1 procent duurder was.

Ook de prijzen van voedingsmiddelen stegen gemiddeld 2,7 procent. Dit is de sterkste stijging sinds 2008.
